Madison - Virginia Frances (Larson) Yaeger passed away peacefully on November 2, 2017. She was born March 28, 1917, to Oscar and Ethel (Reber) Larson in Boone, Iowa. She grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota graduating from St. Paul Central High School in 1935. In November 1939 she married Freeman "Scotty" Jack. They had one son Ronald. She later moved to Rochester, Minnesota where she worked at Northwest National Bank/Wells Fargo until she retired in the early 1980s. Virginia married Laird Yaeger of Rochester in June 1968. They lived for more than 30 years on the Mississippi River in the Lake City/Wabasha area and spent winters and summers boating and snowmobiling with friends and relatives. They also enjoyed RV'ing and wintering in Arizona and Texas for many years. She will be remembered for her wish to live to be 100, and she made it! She enjoyed flowers, music, quilting, and a good vodka gimlet.
Virginia is survived by her stepson, Tom Yaeger (Jeannine Kumm) of Lodi, Wisconsin; daughters-in-law Sally Yaeger of Madison, Wisconsin and Susan Jack of Richland, Washington; seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, Laird, son, Ronald, granddaughter, Keely (Yaeger) Decker, and stepfather, Wally Dahlgren.
The family will have a private burial service at Roselawn Cemetery in Roseville, Minnesota in 2018.
The family wishes to express its sincere appreciation to Agrace Hospice for its care and assistance on behalf of Virginia during the past two years. Memorials in Virginia Yaeger's name may be made to Agrace Hospice.
