Vivian Gerg

Vivian Gerg, age 94, of Waunakee passed away on May 16, 2021 at Meriter Hospital in Madison. Vivian was born in Fairchild, WI on April 2, 1927 and spent most of her childhood in her beloved Sister Bay, WI. She married Arthur L Gerg in 1948 and they lived in Madison, Indiana, Milwaukee, Sparta, Madison and then to Waunakee in 1997. Vivian retired from CUNA Mutual in 1991.

Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Ruth (Husby) Poppendorf; brother, Eugene Poppendorf; sister, Barbara Kotnek; husband, Arthur L Gerg; and  brother, Wayne Poppendorf.  She is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Lee) Beeman of Knoxville, TN; son, Tim Gerg of Weymouth, MA; sister-in-law, Margaret Norris of Oak Creek, WI; four grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. A special thank you to the wonderful staff and volunteers at Attic Angels in Middleton for their kind and attentive care the past few years.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. If desired, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, First Presbyterian Church in Waunakee or to the Waunakee Public Library.
