Vivian E. Hall (Liefke Schelberger) Waunakee/Madison -
Vivian E. Hall (Liefke Schelberger) age 86, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2015 at Saint Mary's Care Center in Madison surrounded by her family. She resided at Saint Mary's Care Center the past four years courageously fighting the effects of Parkinson's Disease. Vivian was born in Adrian Township, Wisconsin on April, 7 1929 to Ernest and Esther (Von Haden) Prechel. Upon graduating from Tomah High School, Vivian moved to Madison where she worked for International Harvester. She met and married LaVerne Liefke from Ridgeville, WI on July 6, 1952. They were married for 19 years when he died in 1971. Vivian raised their four children on her own, while also working in the fashion industry for H.C. Prange, and other fashion retailers. She had a passion for fashion and it always showed.
On November 16, 1980 Vivian married Chuck Schelberger at Zion Lutheran Church in Madison, WI. They lived in Madison, where all four of her children were also living. During their marriage they enjoyed traveling the United States and taking a Caribbean cruise. Vivian enjoyed sharing her life with her children. Vivian and Chuck helped care for 5 grandchildren along with babysitting the children of friends. Vivian was known for her special cookie baking and decorating. She had a cookie or a cake for all occasions. Vivian was married to Chuck for 19 years when he died in 1999.
Vivian married a life-long friend, Orville Hall, on September 17, 2000 at Zion Lutheran Church in Madison. Vivian and Orville lived in Waunakee, during the time they built their dream log home in Montello, WI. They were married for seven years when Orville died in 2007. After Orville's death, Vivian moved back to the Waunakee / Madison area where she remained devoted to her children and grandchildren.
Vivian is survived by her children with LaVerne: LaMont (Corinne) Liefke, LaCinda Garvey, LaVonne (Dave) O'Malley, LaJeanne (Mike) Finke, a stepson Greg (Deb) Thompson, grandchildren Sarah (Alex)Cockerill, Emily Liefke, Eric Garvey (fianc�e Deanna), Ashley Finke, Heather Finke, sisters Bernadine Maulbetsch and Arlene Cooper.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, parents Esther and Ernest Prechel, sister Arlis Thompson, stepson of Chuck Schelberger Michael Schelberger.
A funeral service will be at 12:00 Noon on Monday July 27, 2015 at ZION EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2165 Linden Ave, Madison, with Rev. Patrick Siegler presiding. A luncheon in the church basement will follow the service. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. A visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of the service on Monday at the church.
Special thanks to her nurses and caregivers on Olbrich Lane at St. Mary's Care Center, Madison for all their kindness. Vivian will always be remembered as a loving, caring, and giving mother, grandmother, stepmother, sister, and friend. She will be greatly missed and forever loved in our hearts.
