Warren D. Leadley, age 88, passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2010. He was born in Waukesha on August 9, 1922 to Delbert and Harriett (Prescott) Leadley. He graduated from Waukesha High School in 1941. During high school he enjoyed the arts, including: drawing, painting, charcoal, and cartooning. Warren served overseas with the 664th Topographical Company, 20th Corp. of Engineers, attached to Patten's third Army. Following his service, he began work in Milwaukee for the Soil Conservation Service. In 1964 he was transferred to the Forest Products Laboratory in Madison until his retirement in 1984, at which time he was honored for 40 years of dedicated service with the Dept. of Agriculture. Â His hobbies included: rose gardening, small game hunting, wood carving and photography.Â
Warren is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Joyce; two daughters, Beth (Greg) Reed of Simpsonville, SC, and Jacque Leadley of Madison; five granddaughters; one grandson; and eleven great-grandchildren.Â
The family extends many thanks to Dr. David Sorber and his staff, and all who have cared for Warren over the years.
A Funeral Service with Military Honors will be held at NOON, on Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010 at Prairie Home Cemetery Chapel, 605 S. Prairie Avenue, Waukesha. Â
