Warren ""Bud"" Wennlund

October 8, 1924 — July 16, 2011

Stoughton- Warren ""Bud"" Elmer Wennlund, age 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at his home. He was born in Chicago on October 8, 1924. Bud married Mary Garden Minor on January 18, 1943 before leaving to serve in the U.S. Army in the Philippines during WWII. Bud and Mary moved to Lake Kegonsa in 1947 and he worked as manager of Koltes & Keegan Hardware from 1947 until 1980. In 1980 Bud worked at Chase Lumber & Hardware until retiring in 1997. He enjoyed woodworking, country living and spending time with his family. Bud is survived by his wife, Mary; daughters, Pam Leach, Deborah Wennlund and Rebecca Columber; son, David; seven grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Steven. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at Stoughton United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Lamarr V. Gibson officiating. Burial, with full Military Honors, will follow in Eastside Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of services Wednesday at church. Memorials may be made to HospiceCare Inc. A special thank you to Stoughton EMS, Stoughton Hospital, Dane County Sherriff and HospiceCare Inc.
