Wayne J. Kaltenberg

Wayne J. Kaltenberg, age 73, died peacefully at home on Sunday, December 29, 2024. He was the son of Norbert T. and Tharsella “Sally” (Theis) Kaltenberg.  Wayne graduated from Sun Prairie High School. From there, he worked as a general laborer at Madison Kipp and later at Marshall Erdman of Waunakee.

Wayne found joy in the simple pleasures of life. As he enjoyed playing cards and gambling, he could often be found at Ho Chunk or at a local VFW playing Hazi. He loved listening to his son’s band and dancing to other local bands, always urging folks to join him on the dance floor. His favorite dance partner was his wife, Patty.

Wayne will be remembered for his positive energy, his infectious sense of humor and his bellowing laugh. He truly loved everybody.

Wayne is survived by his significant other Patricia Meinholz; son Jason (Leah) Kaltenberg; daughter Jessica (Johanna Butschke) Kaltenberg; seven grandchildren: Mars, Emma, Jaxon, Logan, Nathan, Christopher, and Zoe; two brothers: Richard and Robert (Faye) Kaltenberg; five sisters: Pat (Bill) Tatge, Jean (Ron) Minick, Linda Scherer, Judy (Brien) Sigurslid, and Brenda (Doug) Johnson; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his two former wives, Cheryl and Robin.

Private services will be held at Highland Memory Gardens in the spring of 2025. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

His family would like to thank Agrace for their support and care in Wayne’s final weeks.
