Wayne Peterson

Madison: Wayne M. Peterson passed away on February 6, 2016 at age 82. He was born in Lone Rock, WI on October 7, 1933, the son of Ernest and Rachel (Webster) Peterson. In 1953 Wayne was drafted into the US Army, and served from December 1953 to December 1955. He served in the Combat Engineers in Germany from July 1954 until December 1955. He married Eunice Pieper on November 3, 1956. Wayne worked for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation until his retirement in April of 1997. Wayne enjoyed sports, especially NASCAR, the Packers, and the Badgers. He coached his son and grandsons in little league baseball. In later years he took great interest in volunteering for the Red Cross. He is survived by his wife, Eunice, a son Mike of Avoca, WI, and two grandsons, Kevin Reible, and Adam Reible, of Dane, two great granddaughters, Autumn and Elaina Reible of Dane, one brother, Bill (Sharon) Peterson of Portage, and one sister Millie (Leroy) Rott of Lone Rock, as well as many nieces and nephews. Wayne was preceded in death by a daughter, Becky (David) Reible, sisters, Betty (John) Torgeson, and Doris (Don) Swinehardt, and brothers, Raymond (Carol) Peterson, Robert (Dawn) Peterson, and John (Mildred) Peterson. A visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 11, 2016, at CRESS CENTER 6021 University Ave., Madison, WI 53705, with a Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 pm.
