Wesley John Waite

June 2, 1931 — February 14, 2009

Waite, Wesley J. Stoughton- Wesley John Waite, age 77 of Stoughton, passed away, joining his beloved wife Virginia, on Valentines day, Saturday, February 14, 2009.   He was born on June 2, 1931 in Appleton, a son of Marvin and Linda (Olson) Waite.   He was united in marriage to Virginia Wasemiller on November 12, 1949.   Wesley served his country in the Navy during the Korean Conflict.   He studied dentistry and was a dental tech, as well as a Golden Gloves boxer in the Navy.   He worked for the Bell Telephone System for many years, and ran Waite's Marine on Lake Kegonsa as a side business.   Wesley was a member of the Sunnyside Beach Boys, the Viking Snowdrifters, the Masons, and the Bell System Pioneers.   He enjoyed spending time with his family and deer hunting at their cottages in Northern Wisconsin, and spent many happy hours in the shop with his friend Beauford Sherman.   He is survived by two children, son, Wesley (Debbie) Waite of McFarland, and daughter Shelley (Mark) Anderson of Stoughton; four grandchildren, Mindy, Stacey and Kristin Waite, and Zacharia (Anna) Anderson; a great-grandchild, Tristian; and a brother, Warren (Mary) Waite.   He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; an infant son; a brother, Sherman; and three sisters, Wyleta, Iona and Adele.   Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at 11:00 am at Christ Lutheran Church, 700 County Hwy B, Stoughton, with the Rev. Paula Geister-Jones officiating.   Immediately following services, Military Rites will be performed by the Stoughton American Legion Post #59 Honor Guard.   The family will greet friends at church on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N.
