Wilbert F. (Nifty) Herrling age 95, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2008 with his loving family by his side. Â Â Wilbert was born on April 14, 1913 to Charles and Ida (Dresen) Herrling. Â Wilbert started his career working at Wolff Kubly and Hirsig in the heating and air conditioning department. Â He later went into business on his own and started Herrling Metal and Heating near Shorewood. Â On June 19th, 1937 he married Adeline Hanusa at St. Luke's in Middleton. Â Together they raised three children: Richard (Dick), Thomas and Barbara. Â In 1975 Nifty retired only to find himself not being able to stay away from his work. Â In 1981 he and Dick built a new building in Middleton to start the business back up. Â At that point he got the itch to continue building and built the Herrling Center located in the Middleton Business Park. Â Nifty loved to keep busy and was continually working on new projects. Â Wilbert was a life long member of Luther Memorial Church in Madison. Â Wilbert is survived by Adeline, his loving wife of 71 years, and his son Tom (Jean) of Cross Plains. Â In addition he is survived by seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Â Kathy (Mike) Martin, of Madison and their children Nicole and Paige. Â Deanne Bullock of Cambridge and her children Joshua, Stephanie, and Madelyn. Â Tom Jr. of Middleton and his children Whitnee, Jordann and Sydnee. Â Larry (Pam) Bowen of Lexington NC. Â Susan (Jay) Smith of Middleton and their children Brandon, Connor, and Nolan. Â Lynda (Richardo) Zambrano of Gilbert, AZ and their son Xavier. Â Carrie Herrling of Los Angeles, CA. Â Wilbert is further survived by a Daughter-in-law Lynn Barlow of Deerfield, Brother-in-law Rev. Ralph ( Doris) Hanusa of Oshkosh and Sister-in-law Pearl Jung of Madison. Â Wilbert was preceeded in death by his parents, and two of his children Dick and Barbara. Â Four siblings: Clem, Elroy, Glen and Irene Quast. Â Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, October 20th, 2008 at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Rd., Madison, WI, with visitation from 10:00 am until the time of service. Â Entombment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Â The family would like to thank all the nurses and staff for the wonderful care Wilbert received while residing at Ingleside in Mt. Horeb since August. Â Also the exceptional individual support and care provided by the Hospice social workers and nurses. Â In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice at 5395 E.
