Wilfred “Wiffie” Kuehn, age 90, of Waunakee died on Sunday, Jan.19, 2025 at his home in Waunakee. He was born in Waunakee on March 3,1934 to Lawrence and Cecelia (Koch) Kuehn. Wilfred served in the Army during the Korean war. 

He was married to Millie Pape and she preceded him in death in 2004.

Wiffie was an agent for American Family Insurance and farmed for many years.

He later married Diane Gest in 2007 and they moved to Waunakee.

 He always enjoyed playing cards and working in his garden.

He was a member of the Cross Plains Knights of Columbus and St. Vincent DePaul Society where he contributed many hours as a volunteer.

Survivors include his wife, Diane; children Steve, Sharon (Jim) Roth, Mark (Lori), Mary Kay (Mitch) Sutter, Barbara Cushman, Joanne (Tom) Faust and daughter-in-law Cheryl Kuehn; 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Mary Jane (Dave) Ellickson. He was preceded in death by his son James (Bigfoot) and grandson Eric Sutter.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 24, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church, 2947 Thinnes St., Cross Plains. Friends may call at the Winn-Cress Funeral Home, 5785 Hwy Q, Waunakee from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday Jan. 23, 2025. Friends may also call at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
