William B. (Bill) Curran, 85, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025, after a lengthy illness. Born on July 13, 1939, in Madison, Wisconsin, he was the son of William A. and Veronica (Connor) Curran. Bill served in the Army Reserves from November 1957 to November 1963. On April 4, 1961, he married Selma Ziegler, and together they shared 63 years of marriage.

A devoted family man, Bill cherished his roles as a husband, father, and grandfather, always placing family at the center of his life. He dedicated 40 years to the telephone industry, retiring from Lucent Technologies in 2000. After retiring, he volunteered as a driver at Westshire Village for many years. Bill was passionate about travel, with Ireland being his favorite destination. A lifelong sports enthusiast, he lettered in every sport at Waunakee High School and remained an avid fan throughout his life. Known for his great sense of humor and love of storytelling, Bill had a unique gift for bringing laughter and joy to those around him.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Selma, and their four children: Brian (Lori), Ken, Connie Fedor, and Colleen (Brent) Kreider. He also leaves behind six cherished granddaughters: Karali (Alex) Hammerschmidt, Krista (Michael) Landes, Nicole (friend Frank) Kreider, Gemma (friend Colton) Kreider, Delaney (friend Austin) Kreider, and Keira (friend David) Kreider.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Monica, her husbands Don Statz and Mel Hering, and his son-in-law Andy Fedor.

Visitation will be held at St. John the Baptist Church in Waunakee from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. on Sat. February 15,2025 followed by the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial with military honors will take place at St. John’s Cemetery, with a luncheon afterward at Rex’s Innkeeper.

 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agrace Hospice. The family is deeply grateful to the nurses and staff at Agrace who provided compassionate care throughout Bill's 2½-year journey.
