William Harvey

February 6, 1952 — July 23, 2021

William (Bill) Harvey, be loved son, father, husband, brother, uncle, farrier and friend, passed away on Friday, July 23rd. He was born February 6th, 1952 in Madison, Wi to Paul and Janet (Felland) Harvey. His family moved to Stoughton in 1960 where he graduated from high school in 1971. He was a very competitive athlete in school, participating in football, wrestling and track. He married in 197 and became a loving father to Heather (Dickerson) Harvey, Wynter Harvey and Paul Harvey. In 1976 he attended the Oklahima Farrier College where he would learn the craft that would become his passion. He married Lynette Fon in 2004 and together they raised beef, chickens and of course, horses. They had many great years of horse camping and motorcycle trips. Bill was always busy in his gardens and working on firewood with his good friend Jerry Griffin. Always looking for a way to make some "easy" money, he and Lynette started planting a large asparagus patch and growing house plants to sell at markets. Bill got all the green thumbs in the family! He would continue to shoe and trim horses until his brain cancer would no longer allow him to do so, which was a very sad day for him. Bill was always optimistic and had a strong faith that carried him through his battle. He spent every day in his favorite spot, listening to the birds, watching the squirrels and looking at his plants and cats. These times were spent with family, friends, God and of course, Lynette, the love of his life.

Bill is survived by his wife Lynette, children Heather (Luke) Harvey Dickerson, Wynter Harvey and Paul Harvey, his mother Janet Harvey, sisters Mary (Guy), Karen (Bob) and Jenny (Dean), his very much loved grandchildren Loren and Dalton Dickerson and Gannon Harvey, also many nieces and nephews, who always knew that Uncle Bill was usually up to some kind of mischief. Aunts, Uncles and cousins will also miss him dearly, as well as good, long time friend, Dave Johnson. He will also be missed by the many horse clients he served as well as many friends. Those who knew Bill will always remember and love him. He was preceded in death by his father Paul and both sets of grandparents.

There will be a private graveside service held for immediate family at Western Koshkonong Lutheran Church with Pastor Trent Saari officiating at 5:00 PM on Sunday, Aug. 1, 2021.

Please share your memories of Bill by posting on his Tribute Wall.
