William Martin

Sun Prairie - William Gilbert Martin, age 85, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Agrace Hospice Care in Fitchburg. William (Bill) was born October 10, 1928 in Walworth, Wisconsin, the son of Gilbert and Marian (Miller) Martin. Bill was married to Gloria Hill on March 22, 1947. He recently lost Gloria, the love of this life, in December. They are now reunited in eternal life and love.

During his working years, Bill was best known for his outstanding and unparalleled customer service for auto dealerships in Walworth and Sun Prairie for over 45 years. His passions were many; outdoor activities (fishing, golfing, hunting,), dancing, and card games; enjoyed with family and friends. He was also an avid reader and loved to sing or whistle a tune. His love for life and family will be forever honored through his surviving sons, Steven (Maurcia) Martin of Thousand Oaks, CA, Michael (Lynn) Martin of Baraboo and Matthew (Judy) of Sun Prairie; 12 grandchildren, Elisabeth (Matt) Hendrickson, Annie Enlow, Virginia Martin, Stephannie Martin, Brian (Sandi) Martin, Adam (Amy) Martin, Eric (Cindy) Martin, Sarah (Matt) Fieck, Brooke Martin, Lindsey (Todd) DuBenske, Laura Martin, and Hillary Martin; 13 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Gloria, a brother, Everett and a sister, Lucille. A memorial service to honor Bill and Gloria will be held Tuesday, April 22, at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Walworth at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Bill and Gloria's honor to Faith Lutheran Church, Walworth, or Agrace Hospice, Fitchburg. The family extends special thanks to Dr. Paul Schmidt, the health care providers from Agrace and The Lighthouse staff for their compassion and support.
