William “Bill” Brad Robish passed away peacefully Monday, May 24, 2021 surrounded by his beloved family. He was born June 27, 1952, to Elroy and Marian Robish in Watertown, South Dakota and graduated high school in Brookings, South Dakota. Upon graduation in 1971, Bill entered the U.S. Navy and was sent to Vietnam until 1975. When he returned home, he joined the police academy and became Deputy Sheriff of Miner County.
It was during a routine traffic stop in 1976 that he met his future wife, Debra Jean Spelbring. Instead of issuing her a ticket, he married her on March 19, 1977. On January 8, 1978, his baby girl, Tanya L. Robish was born. Four years later his number one son was born on January 27, 1982, Tyler B. Robish.
In 1980, he left the sheriff’s office to purchase the Cabaret Bar with his sister and brother-in-law in Carthage, South Dakota. After selling the bar he went to work for Schwan’s Ice Cream and moved his family to Atlantic, Iowa and was promoted to management which brought them to Wisconsin. Bill worked for Schwan’s Ice Cream for 15 years, creating many memories for him and his family. He retired from Stark Automotive in sales/management at the age of 62.
Bill loved many things in his life: taking his beloved wife on many vacations to Mexico and Punta Cana, where they would sometimes stay for three weeks at a time, fishing for hours (and usually catching nothing) at his “happy place” -his cabin in St. Germain and having beers in his backyard with neighbors and friends. What made him most happy was spending time with his family, nothing put a bigger smile on his face then spending time with his two grandsons, Dexter and Remy (Tyler and Kallyn). He was many things; an adoring husband, an amazing father and a loving and caring Papa and we will miss him every single day. We love you 15, Dad.
He is survived by his wife Debra Robish, daughter Tanya L. Robish (fiancé Deanna Theiss), son Tyler B. Robish (wife Kallyn Robish) with grandsons Dexter B. Robish and Remington K. Robish, siblings Sue Gardner(Leo), Pat Wennblom(Jim), Jean Mangels, Lonnie Robish(Cindy), Judy Gjertson(Scott) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, parents and his brother-in-law, Dean Mangels.
