MADISON - William D. Rotzoll, age 83, passed away Friday, July 17, 2015, at Agrace HospiceCare in Madison, WI. Bill was born, in Platteville, WI, on April 30, 1932, the son of the late Clifford and Catherine (Connor) Rotzoll.
Bill spent his early years as an Army brat, and one time attended six grade schools in thirteen months. In 1943, he moved with his family to Darlington, WI, and graduated from Darlington High School in 1950. In 1954, he graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Bill was commissioned a second lieutenant upon graduation from the UW. He served as a military police officer at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. He returned to civilian life in 1956. Bill was united in marriage to Lexy Nesson on November 18, 1961, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Madison, WI. Bill and Lexy had three sons together. Bill had various careers, including a partnership at a medical practice management firm. Later in life, Bill and Lexy traveled extensively throughout Asia, Europe, South America and Australia. They were both active circus fans and were regular volunteers at the Milwaukee circus parades.
Bill is survived by his three sons, Eric (Yong Mei Ye) of Bethesda, MD; Kurt (Patty Sommer) of Madison, WI; and Craig (Mildred) of Maple Grove, MN; three granddaughters; a grandson; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lexy (2014); his brother, Tom; and an infant sister.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2015, at ST. THOMAS AQUINAS ROMAN CATHOLIC PARISH, 602 Everglade Drive, Madison, WI, with Father Bart Timmerman presiding. A visitation will be held one hour prior to Mass. Burial and lunch will follow.
