Madison - William H. Ryan, Jr., age 93, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2018 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Kingwood, TX. He was born on November 2, 1924 in Nashua, New Hampshire, the son of Eva Dora (King) and William H. Ryan.

While Bill was in the U.S. Air Force he met the love of his life Doris Turner at Truax Field Air Base, where they were both teaching radio. He held many positions in that field in many states and retired from teaching Mechanical Design at MATC in 1987. He loved playing and watching golf, watching the Packers, listening to country music, taking care of his big yard, playing his harmonica, and having a good laugh. He also loved his family deeply.

Bill is survived by his daughter Kathy Gronli of Middleton, WI.; son, Terry Ryan of Kingwood, TX.; and grandchildren, Ryan Gronli of Madison, Patrick (Kelly) Gronli of Portland, OR., Gabe Gronli of New York City, Carmen Ryan, and Tricia (Nick) Ryan Racine of Kingwood, TX.; great-grandchildren, Connor and Grayson Racine, Dane and Piper Gronli; he is also survived by his sister, Marcia Lambert of Nashua, NH.
He was preceded in death by his wife Doris, his parents, four sisters, and one brother.

A private burial service will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park in Monona.

Memorials may be made out in memory of Bill and Doris to Alzheimers Disease Research or any Veterans Organization.

A special thank you to the Jefferson Middleton, for a very happy year there, and to Brookdale Madison and Brookdale Kingwood, TX., for their excellent care of our father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

We love and miss you so much.

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
The rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
