William J. Santos, Jr.

Stoughton- William J. Santos, Jr., age 76, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 25, 2008 at Stoughton Hospital.  He was born in Lodi on August 24, 1932, the son of William and Anna (Werla) Santos.  On February 20, 1954 Bill married Virginia Schneider.  He worked for General Motors for over 35 years, retiring in 1990.  Bill loved fishing and going up north to the cabin.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  Bill is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ginny; five children, Brian (Peggy), Tina, Mary, Kim and Amy (Jeff) Elsner; five grandchildren; seven siblings; and many relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, David and Ed; and granddaughter, Ashley.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, December 29, 2008 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 323 N. Van Buren Street, Stoughton, with Monsignor Gerard Healy officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery.  Friends and family are invited to a luncheon at the church following the burial.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass on Monday.  The family would like to thank the staff of Stoughton Hospital.
