Wilmer Lemke

Wilmer G Lemke, age 79, of Deerfield, Wisconsin passed away on March 27, 2025 at his home. He was born on August 31, 1945 in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. Married the love of his life, Mary Palmer, and together they built a life filled with love, family, and cherished memories. A hardworking man, Wilmer spent many years as a truck driver for HK, taking pride in the miles he traveled. Following this, he worked at Oscar Mayer until his retirement. He always dreamed of being a cowboy, embracing the spirit of the open road and the great outdoors. Still, he found joy in the outdoors—fishing, golfing, and hunting. He also enjoyed reading westerns and playing cards—but his greatest happiness was being with his family. He was a devoted father to his daughter and three sons and a cherished grandfather to fourteen grandchildren and papa to five great-grandchildren.

Survived by his wife Mary and his children, Lori (Andy) Eberhardt, Mike (Gina) Lemke, Brian (Ambyr) Lemke, David (Nelda) Lemke; grandchildren; Kendall (Matt) Meekma, Bailey (Anthony) Eberhardt, Sydney Eberhardt, Kayle (Joe) Scoville, Jessica Alsaker, Caitlynn (Parker) Lemke, William Lemke, Carter Lemke, Tony (Aliah) Kapral, Hondo Lemke, Oscar Lemke, Bene Lemke, Melina Lemke, Halie Lemke, and great-grandchildren; Evelyn, Lala, Nolyn, Myles, and Azara. Brother Richard (Kay) Lemke, Sisters-in-law, Kathy (Dean) Tiezsen, Joan (John) Marshall, Karen (Mel) Crook, Brothers-in-law, James (Deb) Palmer, Robert (Barb) Palmer, Tim Palmer, many nieces, nephews and special friend Dave Hall.

Preceded in death by his parents, Wilmer and Margaret Lemke, sisters Patricia Baunecht, Floy Caucutt, Mary Lemke, and brothers, Carl, Gerald, Ralph and Joseph.

Memorial services will be held at Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton on Tuesday April 8, 2025. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. with a service to follow. In his honor, take a moment to enjoy nature, a good book, or a peaceful cast into the water—just as he would have.
