Esmond, Wilton Bud'
Stoughton / Belvidere- Wilton E. Bud' Esmond, age 75 of Stoughton, WI, passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison on Thursday, January 1, 2009. He was born in Harvard, IL on May 6, 1933, a son of Wayne Dean and Evelyn Mae (McRoberts) Esmond. Bud served his country in the Air Force during the Korean War, and graduated from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb with a degree in Accounting in 1958. On August 15, 1959, he was united in marriage to Helen Carpenter in Belvidere. Bud worked for American Family Insurance for many years, culminating in a driving role. He very much enjoyed the driving, and made many friends along the way. It was said that Bud never met a stranger. He also enjoyed travelling with his family very much, especially in the mountains of Colorado. Bud is survived by his wife Helen of Stoughton; son, David (Sarah) Esmond of Stoughton; daughter, Lisa (Eric) Hanson of Hudson, WI; grand daughter, Isabelle; the mighty Wrigs; several nieces and nephews; 2 sisters-in-law, Betty Burke and Dorathy Meyers; and 2 brothers-in-law, Charles (Tucky) Elliot and Bob (Bev) Carpenter. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Donna Elliot. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at 11:00 am at the Stoughton United Methodist Church, 535 N. Lincoln, Stoughton with the Rev. Lamarr Gibson officiating. Burial will follow at Wheeler Prairie Cemetery in Dunkirk. The family will meet friends on Monday, January 5th from 4:00pm until 6:00pm at the Olson-Holzhuter-Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton, and again at church on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
