Winnifred E. Kirton

Winnifred ""Wynn"" Elsworth Kirton, age 85 entered peacefully into Eternal Life on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at the Sterling House in Middleton, WI.

Wynn was born on April 20, 1925 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, the daughter of Albert and Janet Elsworth. She was united in marriage with William T. Kirton on July 1, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois. Wynn was a longtime resident of Madison.  

 

She was a wonderful mother and friend. Her unending devotion to us and her heart as warm as a summer day and as big as the outdoors will be missed. All of her wise and wonderful words of advice we will always cherish. Her presence will always be felt and her beautiful face and smile will live in our hearts forever.

Wynn is survived by her daughter Janet (Kirton) Hollingshead, son, Randall Kirton, daughter-in-law, Susan Kirton; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, William Thomas Kirton, Jr.; husband William Thomas Kirton; her parents; and two sisters, Margaret Holzaphel, and Kathryn Barker.  

The family wishes to extend a thank you to all the staff of HospiceCare, Inc., and also, a special thank you to the loving staff of Sterling House where she resided for the last six years.

A private funeral service will be held Saturday, March 12th at Sterling House in Middleton.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HospiceCare, Inc. 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Fitchburg, WI 53711.
