Zofia Sluzar French

Zofia ""Sue"" Ruth Sluzar French, 82, formerly of Manlius NY, died peacefully the morning of March 29, 2010, at Skaalen Home, Stoughton WI. Sue was born July 14, 1927 to Maria Andrusyszyn and Michael Sluzar in rural West Monroe (Union Settlement) NY and lived nearly all of her life in central New York state.  Sue graduated from Central Square High School in 1943 and Syracuse Business College. Sue married Daniel Eakin French on April 24, 1954. They had two children. Sue worked as a secretary, both before marriage and after raising her children, most recently for Thomson Consumer Electronics in Syracuse NY until retirement in 1992. Sue loved to garden and enjoyed walking and skiing. Sue was a member of Christ Church (Episcopal) in Manlius, and an active volunteer in the Fayetteville-Manlius area. Surviving are her daughter MarySue French of Port Angeles WA, son David Andrew French (and partner Donna Kolaetis) of Madison WI, sister-in-law Phyllis Sluzar of West Monroe NY, and many nieces and nephews. Sue was predeceased by her parents; husband; and four siblings, Philip, Stephan, Alex, and Marianne Sluzar. Memorial service Sunday, June 20, 2 pm, at Christ Church, 407 E Seneca St, Manlius, NY.
