Sharon Hanold

Madison – Sharon L. Hanold, age 81, of Poynette passed away on March 30, 2023, peacefully at her home surrounded by loved ones.  She was born on December 31, 1941 in Madison, WI, the daughter of Leonard and Deloris Nelson.  She married the love of her life of 61 years, William Hanold on December 2, 1961 in Madison, Wisc.

Sharon was a member of the Madison Dx Radio Club.  She had an extra class radio license with call sign (KA9GPY).  She was an avid crochet and knitter making sweaters, blankets, afghans, and dishrags.  She loved playing card games and domino’s, flowers, nature and most importantly spending time with family and friends.  Sharon and Bill enjoyed being snowbirds in Arizona for the past 25 years where they enjoyed the dessert and seasonal cactus bloom.

Sharon is survived by her loving husband William Hanold; brother, Dennis (Susan) Nelson; daughter, Susie (Peter) Eddington; son James Hanold; grandchildren, Christopher (Marie) Jacobson and Vicky (Ben) Weiland; great grandchildren, Mason, Xander, Carter, Lilliana, Mikayla.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Deloris (Daley) Nelson.

Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday April 6, 2023 at Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Rd., Madison, with Rev. Pam Gillingham presiding.  A time of gathering will be from 9:30 to the time of service at the Funeral Home.

At the requests of Sharon and her family we would like everyone to dress casually and to wear something cheerful and colorful.
