Welcome to our Madison - West Location Funeral Home

In 1913, the Frautchi family began serving their community at their Madison funeral home. They would later expand, opening up their Speedway Road location in 1961. In 1977, Robert W. Cress, a longtime casket salesman to the Frautchi family, purchased the funeral home, with the goal of continuing to provide care and service to the people of Madison and grow the funeral home with more modern amenities to suit families’ needs. Nestled between two beautiful cemeteries owned by the City of Madison and the Diocese of Madison, our funeral home in Madison, WI, offers an open floor plan that creates an inviting space for celebrations, formal services, gatherings, and receptions. Our two chapels allow all those who loved your loved one to come together for a service designed around who your loved one was. Our community room, added in the late 1990s and remodeled in 2022, creating a comforting feel, gives families a place to come together with their guests to reminisce and honor the life of their loved one. We strive to provide families with everything they need for today’s services, including audio and video equipment in every room and places to view memorial videos during services. Outside, you’ll find more places for quiet contemplation, including a gazebo that’s hosted several family events. Since our recent remodel, we’ve been able to add even more amenities, while still keeping the historic beauty and inviting atmosphere that Madison has long known our location for, including maintaining our famous historic funeral buggy.
